Dining & Entertainment

The Jefferson Inn offers dining from our tavern-style menu seven evenings per week, with service from 5pm until 9pm. From wings and lettuce wraps to grilled salmon and fettuccini caprese, there is something for everyone. Our chef prepares specials daily, and entrée prices range from $9 to $15. Our menu also includes a variety of salads, as well as a selection of decadent desserts. Dining is available in our Tavern, and seasonally in our renowned Courtyard.

The Jefferson Inn has been the most popular spot in Southern Pines for locals and visitors to gather and socialize for over a century. Open from early Spring through late Fall, the outdoor Courtyard at The Jefferson continues to offer the perfect venue for relaxing with old friends and making new acquaintances.

The Tavern, open year-round, provides a rustic environment reminiscent of the early 1900's. But despite its historic appeal, it is the setting for the area's most active nightlife. Offering live music four nights per week, The Jefferson Inn has been the recipient of the Local’s Choice Award for the area’s “Best Live Entertainment” for the last four years.

Our Tavern Menu is available daily in the Courtyard and Tavern, and our friendly bartenders are always ready to prepare a beverage from our creative martini list, our extensive wine collection, or any other refreshing concoction you may choose to enhance the experience. Whether in the Courtyard or Tavern, you can always count on a fun experience well into the night.

History

Southern Pines, North Carolina was founded in the late 1800’s by John Tyrant Patrick, following the construction of the railroad through the town’s current location. The warm climate and clean air began attracting many Northeasterners to the area. John S. Reynolds and his wife were among those who became enamored with the region. The couple ran a guesthouse known as the Cold Springs House during the summer months in their hometown of Jefferson, New Hampshire. They eventually built a winter home on New Hampshire Avenue in Southern Pines, a half-block from the train station in the center of town.
